 Jan-Timo Sonnemann 

Jan-Timo Sonnemann is working as a freelance Filmeditor since 2004.

Born and raised in Salzgitter in Lower Saxony, he volunteered in the post-production of “Studio Hamburg” after his comunity service. A short time later he was responsible for many series and feature films as an assistant editor.

In 1999 he moved to the subsidiary “Studio Berlin” in Adlershof, where he was the main sounddesigner of several series. 

There he met director Ed Ehrenberg, and after the first common editing session during a few Episodes of  "Coast Guard" they developed a trusting relationship that continues until today.

Jan-Timo is a generalist in editing.

Whether fictional thriller like "The Old Man" and "A Case for Two", documentary formats such as "Small hands in a Big War" or feature films such as "Listen to the Silence"; any format he gives a unique style and a distinctive look. His specialtys are intense and meaningfull music montages.

Through his years of experience in post-production, he knows all the key workflows, and different ways of production in the twentyfirst century of filmmaking.
